POLICE ARREST MAN PROTESTING WITH SIGN "DOWN WITH FIDEL" By José Orlando González Bridón, Cuba Free Press.

HAVANA - Near the end of November, Crescencio López Espinosa procured some cardboard, wrote on it the phrase "Down with Fidel" and walked into a police station displaying it. According to Miguel Santos and Lázaro Martínez, who know López Espinosa, he walked into the station to protest that the police there had not taken seriously a complaint from his mother that she had been assaulted and beaten.

Witnesses told Cuba Free Press that the incident occurred in Regla, a municipality across the bay from Havana. The man's mother, Daisy Espinosa, had made the complaint earlier.

Upon his arrest, López Espinosa was taken to the Technical Department of Investigations of the National Police, where he remains.
