GOVERNMENT RELEASES COLAS AND BERTA ANTUNEZ, NOW AWAITING 'REPUDIATION' MOBS By Odilia Collazo of the Human Rights Party, for Cuba Free Press.

HAVANA - International human rights organizations that recorded the 'repudiation meetings' staged to intimidate independent journalists in 1997 may note that the government agents once again are carrying out such managed duties.

Ramón Humberto Colás and Berta Antúnes were both liberated but upon returning to their homes were subjected to acts of "spontaneous indignation" well orchestrated.

The writer has told authorities, "It is very dangerous for the activists and journalists to be subjected to this vilification because those who hold the rejection meetings have no cultural base but are merely avengers who perhaps have a personal problem with someone. So the agents begin with blows of fists and hands but may throw rocks or bottles which can endanger the life of any one of us in the opposition as well as our families."
