DISSIDENT MARTA BEATRIZ ROQUE HELD IN GOVERNMENT "SAFE HOUSE" By Tania Quintero, Cuba Free Press Project.

HAVANA - Agents of the Office of State Security (OSS) transferred dissident Marta Beatriz Roque Cabello from a hospital to a "safe house" on the outskirts of Havana, probably as early as September 17. She had been on a hunger strike at the Carlos J. Finlay military hospital, demanding that the government reconsider her case, where she was found guilty of publicly disagreeing with the government.

Roque Cabello is extremely thin and in frail health after her fast, according to her niece María de los Ángeles Falcón Cabello, who was allowed to visit her aunt at the the safe house. Nevertheless, adds Ms. Falcón, Roque Cabello is prepared to resume her hunger strike if her demands are not met for a new hearing as promised. She also wants to be transferred back to the penitentiary of "Manto Negro" where she was serving her sentence when she went on strike.
