GOVERNMENT AGENTS ATTACK CHURCHGOERS By Margarita Yero, Cuba Free Press.
HAVANA - Cuban government agents on Sept. 8 attacked five activists from the Christian Liberation Movement who had just attended the morning eucharistic celebration of Our Lady of Charity.
Among those attacked were Julio Molina, Leonel Grave de Peralta, Luis Enrique Ferrer, Giovanni Batista Calzado and Calixto Emilio Cepero. The non-violent dissenters were beaten while holding anti-government signs which they had earlier carried during the church procession. They were about 80 meters from the church.
The signs carried messages such as, "Lets build a homeland for all and for the good of all, as Marti wanted. The homeland does belong to all of us. Let's live like brothers. Lets say no to hatred and yes to love."
