CUBAN STATE SECURITY AGENTS SUMMON AND QUESTION LABOR LEADER CORRESPONDENT. Cuba Free Press.
Havana.- A State Security (SS) captain named "Ulises" summoned José Orlando González Bridón, pacifist official of the non-government Cuban Democratic Workers Confederation (CDWC) and correspondent for Cuba Free Press to the SS unit at 9 p.m. March 24.
Capt. Ulises and an agent named "David" conducted most of an hour's interrogation. They asked the journalist about some data on which they had placed a file number that González Bridón assumed was his. They wanted to know what he was planning to happen in his home. He told them he was going to celebrate his birthday and the seventh anniversary of the CDWC.
He told Cuba Free Press the officers obviously already knew about his plans and told him that they did not want any demonstration or disorder to develop. They also demanded that he finish the meeting by a certain time and said his visitors must not go out on the street but remain inside his house during the meeting. They also said they would be close by if there was any disorder.
The birthday celebration occurred under the watch of the police and there was no incident to activate them.
