POLICEMAN FINES HANDICAPPED YOUTH FOR SELLING PASTRIES ON THE STREET. By Juan Antonio Soto, Cuba Free Press.
Sancti Spiritus.- Cuban National Police officer José Luis León fined a young legless man named Yosbel 200 pesos for selling pastries in front of the Camilo Cienfuegos Hospital in this city. León threatened to increase the fine to 1,500 pesos and take the man to court if he saw him there again.
According to a report from Orlando Visiedo, people like Yosbel who have no other means of support are severely fined by the Cuban authorities for trying to sell things.
