ROUND TABLE OF THE NONVIOLENT OPPOSITION HOLDS SECOND MEETING. By Rafael Contreras Bueno, Cuba Free Press.
Pinar de Rio.- The Round Table of the Nonviolent Opposition met for the second time recently at Pinar de Rio. Various organizations united in a common theme, discussing changes needed in the Cuban society. The meeting occurred at the home of the provincial delegate of the Cuban Socialist Democratic Current.
The dialogue took place in "an atmosphere of reflection and common brotherhood for the same cause," according to participants. Manuel Cuesta Morua, general secretary of the abovenoted Current spoke of the tactics and strategies of the moderate opposition as well as the need for a dialogue about its principal objective.
Organizations' representatives who took part on the discussion were from the Cuban Civic Movement Maximo Gomez Baez, the Cuban Socialist Democratic Current, the Democratic Front for the Liberty of Cuba and the United Council of Cuban Workers.
Some participants expressed surprise that the meeting was allowed to take place. They said they had extended an invitation to visitors from all the municipalities of Pinar del Rio province. This meant that there was an opportunity for members of diverse groups to express various points of view.
