SEVEN CIGAR FACTORIES, LACKING "COVERS," SEND WORKERS HOME By Juan Antonio Soto, Cuba Free Press.
Placetas.- The cigar factory "Redobas" here in Placetas has had to close for a lack of "covers" as have six other factories in the province of Villa Clara: Baez LB16, Manicaragua, Ranchuelo, Camajuani, Falco and Santa Clara.
Workers at those plants received full pay for the month of January but will get only 60 percent of their "salaries" for February if they are not able to start back on February 1.
