MORE ON THE ARREST OF OSVALDO PAYA AND HECTOR PALACIOS. By Roberto Larramendi, Cuba Free Press
La Habana. - At yesterday's arrest of the well-known dissidents Osvaldo Paya Sardinas and Hector Palacios Ruiz of the Christian Liberation Movement, they were threatened with being charged with the notorious "Warning Act."
In an interview given to this reporter, Palacios stated, "They are afraid that all the dissidents in this country will unite and start thinking. This is what they are afraid of. That we'll start thinking..."
Palacios Ruiz who has served time for his active dissidence, added, "Unfortunately, the regime, and they have told us so, will not tolerate a new Cuban Council, no even under a different name. They do not wish for us to meet, and speak, and exchange ideas, or to focus on the political life of the country."
At La Cumbre Paralela de Nazareno, a small suburb in the Boyeros Municipality, where 14 delegates of different dissident organizations were able to meet, despite the intense repression, put the government on alert, especially, because in said summit, there arose a document, titled "Todos Unidos" (All Together) for which a reporting commission was formed in order to ensure that the agreement is complied with.
