AUTHORITIES HAVEN'T MENTIONED MOSQUITOES IN HAVANA By Jorge Diego Rodríguez Delgado, Cuba Free Press.

HAVANA - Health authorities so far have not offered any explanation or advice to the public about the swarms of mosquitoes that have invaded the Havana neighborhoods of El Cerro, La Lisa and San Agustin.

These areas of the capital had never experienced such an invasion before and the residents are forced to close the windows at night so as not to get bitten.

Fogging lessened the problem in La Lisa but the problem is intolerable in the crowded neighborhood of San Agustin. In previous years, only those areas along the coast or in the countryside would be affected but not the major urban neighborhoods.
