OSS AGENTS THREATEN LEADER OF OPPOSITION GROUP By Ricardo González Alfonso, Cuba Free Press.
HAVANA - Officials of the Office of State Security (OSS) questioned and threatened Pedro Orlando Herrera Delgado, 51, for five hours May 27 at the OSS quarters in the central province of Santa Clara.
Herrera Delgado is the delegate for the National Council on Civil Rights for Cuba's central region. The political police contended he is in touch with the president of the EX-Club of political prisoners and former fighter Rolando Borges Paz, now living in Miami. Borges Paz has been linked by the Cuban authorities with the Salvadoran citizen Otto Rene Rodriguez Llerena, sentenced to death for bringing explosives into the country and placing a bomb in a Cuban hotel.
Herrera told this reporter that he had met Borges in several prisons throughout the island towards the end of the 60's and early 70's. Herrera, who lives near Placetas, said he had received medicines, food and $20 from Borges Paz, along with correspondence.
The officers gave him a warning for this contact and ordered Herrera not to hold meetings in his home of his organization, the National Council for Civil Rights. They warned him he had to ask for permission from the political police to leave his home. He was later released.
