CUBA PRESS EXPRESSES ITS SOLIDARITY WITH ARGENTINIAN JOURNALIST By Raul Rivero, Cuba Free Press.
HAVANA - The sentence imposed in Buenos Aires, Argentina on journalist Eduardo Kimel for investigating and writing about the circumstances surrounding five crimes perpetrated by the military dictatorship which once governed Argentina leads us to a very natural reaction of indignation and disgust.
Even as we do not have access to the complete information regarding this episode due to the blockade of information to which we are subjected by the Cuban authorities, the mere knowledge of the incident, the sanction issued, and the fine levied against the news reporter lead us to express our solidarity with him.
The aberrant practice of condemning those who make crimes public and not the perpetrators who commit them has to vanish once and for all from those societies that want to move forward for the good of their citizens.
>From the complex realm in which we work, accosted and threatened, we wish to send our colleague Eduardo Kimel a message of fraternal support.
