COURT PENALIZES CITIZEN FOR "INSULTING" THE REVOLUTION By Isabel Rey, Cuba Free Press.
RANCHUELOS - The People's Tribunal (Court) of Ranchuelos in Villa Clara province on March 10 sentenced Jorge Luis Fleites Jiménez to serve four years of domiciliary reclusion for expressing contempt for the current administration of the country, according to Reinaldo Cabezas, of the Movimiento Reflexión Reflexion Movement).
Fleites Jiménez was charged with having uttered insulting words against the revolution and President Fidel Castro after local authorities fined him for having a water pipe standing in front of his house, which was under construction.
Cabezas said the insults were heard by Omar Roberto Pérez and Lázaro Reyes Aguilera, watchmen for the National Revolutionary Police, who gave Fleites a bruising beating with the help of former policeman Jorge Valdés Gil, a.k.a. "Liborito."
Neighbors rescued Fleites Jiménez from the beating but his aggressors proceeded to take him to the police station. He was there four days before his trial.
