MOST CUBA PRESS AGENCY CORRESPONDENTS RELEASED By Ricardo González Alfonso, Cuba Free Press.
HAVANA - Police at mid-day on March 2 in the city municipal plaza released six of the journalists affiliated with the Cuba Free Press agency. They had been taken into custody on March 1.
Those released were Tania Quintero, Odalys Curbelo, Juan Antonio Sánchez, Héctor González, Orlando Bordón and Raúl Rivero, who is director of Cuba Free Press. They had been detained at the Second Instruction Unit of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR).
Before they were released, the police charged them with "criminal associations in the journalistic coverage of a trial."
Continuing under detention was the deputy director of Cuba Free Press, Marvin Hernández Monzón. She was being held in solitary confinement at the PNR's First Unit of Cienfuegos.
Elsewhere, Cuba Free Press correspondent Hirán González of Aguada de Pasajeros was held by police of his area from Feb. 28 to March 1 and then released.
And at Manzanillo, to the east, Jesús Labrador, Cuba Free Press reporter. Was detained by police during the time the trial began of the four members of the Working Group of Internal Dissidence. The trial ended March 2 and within a week or so the sentence of the four will be announced.
