HORSE THIEVES-BUTCHERS CAUGHT IN ACT, JAILED By Tania Quintero, Cuba Free Press.

HAVANA - In an operation called the "huron case" for reasons not revealed, four young men were caught in the Havana sector known as San Nicolás de Bari butchering a horse they had stolen. They were taken off to prison after confessing to 16 of the misdeeds.

Since the rationing of meat began in 1962, with the government providing beef only two or three times a year, Cubans have taken a liking to horsemeat as an alternative, if they can get it.
