INTERIOR MINISTRY OFFICER SHOOTS SUSPECT DEAD WITH PISTOL By Ricardo González Alfonso, Cuba Free Press.

HAVANA - An Interior Ministry officer, Alejandro Nompie Savon, shot Mario Rosabal Torres, 36, in the city of La Marti, some 30 kilometers from the city of Manzanillo, on December 15 and is under investigation by other officials. The agent reportedly suspected Rosabal Torres was stealing livestock. But non-official residents of the area have denied this.

The officer used his Makarov pistol. Nompie Savon was from Yara, Granma province, according to Jesus Labrador, correspondent for this agency in the eastern region of the country.
