POWER BLACKOUTS WORSEN IN VILLA CLARA NEIGHBORHOODS By Hector Trujillo Pis, Cuba Free Press.

CAIBARIEN - Starting in September and continuing to the present, sporadic and extended power blackouts have increased throughout the many municipalities within the province of Villa Clara. The power blackouts have often extended to 11 consecutive hours.

The magnitude of the crisis has even affected some of the areas which never experienced blackouts before. For example, even reaching the first perimeter in the city, an area where the hard currency stores, government offices and central offices of the Interior Ministry are located.

This particular area has suffered blackouts lasting for a few hours over several days.

This situation, essentially the result of fuel shortages, has not been limited to the central region of the island, but has been a fact of life for many years throughout the country.
