ANTI-CASTRO SIGNS SURFACE IN CAMAJUANÍ By Héctor Trujillo Pis, Cuba Free Press
CAIBARIEN - Two anti-Castro signs appeared in front of the Piccola Pizza Parlor in the old Barcelona Hotel in the center of the town of Camajuaní in Villa Clara province on November 17, according to René Márquez Rodríguez, a Cuban human rights activist.
Written in black crayon, the signs said, "Down with Castro" and "Down with Communism." The signs appeared despite a considerable increase in observed police presence recently.
In the early morning hours, before the signs were effaced, dozens of Ministry of the Interior personnel and several of their dogs milled about the site, as well as personnel from the municipality Office of State Security (OSS), headed by Vladimir Méndez, chief of operations.
