DR. BISCET DENOUNCES NEW ATTACK ON HOME By Odalys Curbelo, Cuba Free Press.
HAVANA - Dr. Elías Biscet González has again accused agents of the Office of State Security (OSS) of making a new attack on the home of Estela Méndez Ruiz, 72, who has provided shelter for his wife and son.
"Last Saturday morning," he said, "the front door was vandalized with a sign saying 'chiva' (informer) and another that was illegible. In addition, the bolts on the door broke, apparently because of a corrosive substance placed on them."
Dr. Biscet said he felt certain that the attacks, of which this was one of several over the last few months, indirectly involve the OSS political police. His wife is Elsa Morejón Hernández. His son is a pre-university student. Dr. Biscet is president of the Lawton Foundation for Human Rights, which has an active campaign against abortion and the death penalty.
