WORK CENTER HALVES WAGES OF MAN REPATRIATED FROM THE BAHAMAS By Héctor Trujillo Pis, Cuba Free Press.

CAIBARIEN - Jose Alberto Gonzalez Medina, 21, told this reporter that after he was deported from the Bahamas, last May, the management at his work center have demoted him and cut his waves in a way he considers unjust, arbitrary and discriminatory.

He said that before leaving the country illegally, he was the assistant to the chief of the railroad station in Caibarien, Villa Clara province, earning 211 pesos a month.

Upon his return, he was demoted to the position of doorman, earning a salary of 100 pesos because, according to the management, he "is not to be trusted."
