RAUL RIVERO CASTANEDA IS ARRESTED AGAIN. TAKEN TO VILLA MARISTA. By Ana Luisa Lopez Baeza, CubaPress.

Raul Rivero Castaneda, the director of CubaPress, was arrested this Tuesday by State Security agents, who stormed into his home at 7:30 a.m.

Through a phone call, which was interrupted by the political police, Rivero's wife, Mrs. Blanca Reyes, told this reporter that the director of CubaPress was taken to Villa Marista (State Security's main office), while several agents remained at the home, conducting a detailed search.

The testimony by Rivero's wife was confirmed by colleagues in CNN, who visited the home of the journalist at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, and found the agents conducting the search.

They (CNN reporters, including Lucia Newman) were assured, that the police operation which they were conducting was absolutely legal, and were not allowed into the home or speak to Mrs. Reyes.

The mother of the Cuban distinguished intellectual and poet, said that she is very worried about her son, even as she doesn't know he is currently in jail, but that she assumed was in danger because he hadn't called her in the morning, and because all during Monday evening, she had been receiving anonymous phone calls, asking to speak to her or Raul.

"That's the people from State Security, for sure. That's how it happened two months ago, before they visited me to scare me". Said Hortensia Castaneda, the 76 year-old mother of the poet.
